Ännu ett lokalt ullgarn, denna gång från får som betar i Stockholms skärgård!
Anita Yarns Simply black är spunnet av natursvart ryalammull, det är långa fibrer och spunnet med extra twist så att det skall hålla till sockor.
Jag lade i vanlig ordning upp på stickor 2,5 mm, men det blev håligt och russligt (vilket inte syns på bild), gjorde ett nytt försök på stickor 2,25 mm, och vilken skillnad det blev. Det är otroligt att 0,25 mm kan göra sådan skillnad. Sockstarterna på bilden har lika många ökningar/varv. 
Det intressanta är att jag kan sticka efter samma beskrivning som jag brukar använda (Eva förstås) trots att stickan är tunnare.
Anitas beskrivning av garnet (för mitt minne och för den som är intresserad): Simply Black. This yarn is spun of 100% rya lambswool, which makes it durable yet soft! The colour is naturally deep black with a bit of shine. The fibre are very thin and soft. Rya wool usually has both under wool and guard hairs, and the fleeces picked for this yarn are the softest lamb’s fleeces with minimal under wool. So, most of the fibre used are nearly 20 cm long.
The yarn spun from this kind of wool has a god durability. Since the fibre are straight, there is not much air in the yarn, but it makes a very compact thread. All-in-all, this yarn is especially useful for sock knitting or weaving.

These lambs were born at a farm in the Stockholm (Sweden) outer archipelago in a flock of 38 ewes. These ewes and their lambs graze freely on several islands of the Stockholm archipelago. The yarn has been spun at Karlsbergsgården into a 2-ply yarn with an enhanced twist to improve wear.
